Theory meets practice: important issues in teaching practice

We invite you to participate in a conference dedicated to the coherence of theory and practice in teacher education.

Theory and practice are the two equally important cornerstones of teacher education. Their dialogue has gained increasing priority over the last decades, but excess focus on theory and a certain gap between theory and practice are still considered the main problems of teacher training to this day. High-quality teacher education, however, can only emerge from their symbiosis and dialogue.

The conference “Theory meets practice: important issues in teaching practice” introduces the results of studies relevant to education practice, and facilitates raising issues of teaching practice that require further research.

The conference celebrates the expansion of ISATT (International Study Association on Teachers and Teaching) into Estonia.

Conference will take place on 21 November, 2014 in Tartu, Estonia
Conference venue is the main building of the University of Tartu
(Ülikooli 18, Tartu)

The conference is organised by SA Archimedes Eduko in cooperation with Tallinn University and the University of Tartu. The conference is sponsored by the European Union and the European Social Fund through Eduko, the education sciences and teacher training programme.
